Locally-qualified jobseekers who are registered as actively seeking work are being sent a new brochure of events from Back to Work designed give them new skills and fresh inspiration.

The JobsFest Diary of Events has been posted to the hundreds of locally-qualified people with an invitation to them to attend as many of the free events as they can.

The detailed programme of events are being run from 7 October to 30 November and include:

  • Networking meetings hosted by local employers with an opportunity to find out about a range of industries
  • Workshops designed to help jobseekers improve their CVs and interview skills
  • Confidence-building sessions
  • Tips on effective job searching

The Social Security Minister, Senator Francis Le Gresley, said: “JobsFest offers jobseekers an opportunity to revitalise their job search, gain new skills and meet with local employers. With one event happening almost every day throughout JobsFest, there is plenty to inspire and support Islanders who are looking for work. It can be hard to remain motivated when you are out of work and I hope that these events will provide encouragement to jobseekers.”

The events are part of JobsFest – a series of initiatives delivered over eight weeks which are designed to get locally qualified jobseekers, who are registered as actively seeking work, into work and follows on from the successful JobsFest Job Match event held last week.
