High profile names in food and drink are getting behind the Eat Jersey Food Festival.

Champagne Taittinger, Mercury Distribution and Easenmyne have been confirmed as the first three sponsors of the event, which takes place at The Atlantic Hotel from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th November 2016. Executive Head Chef Mark Jordan will be joined by a prestigious line-up of renowned chefs from the Channel Islands and Britain in a celebration of the gourmet produce and fine dining in Jersey.

Lynn Murray, marketing director of Taittinger’s UK distributor Hatch Mansfield, said she was looking forward to this year’s festival being as successful as last year’s.

‘Taittinger has had a long relationship with The Atlantic Hotel and has been the house champagne for a number of years. In 2015 we supported Eat Jersey with Taittinger as the champagne for the reception event and then matched with a number of the dishes prepared by the chefs. The feedback was very positive for the brand, and with the line-up of chefs for 2016 we are delighted to confirm with Patrick Burke and his team at The Atlantic Hotel our involvement in the event,’ she said.

Nigel Campbell from Mercury Distribution, said the company was delighted to play its part in supporting the culinary festival.

‘For us, as a local business, it’s a privilege to be associated with such a fantastic Jersey initiative that will undoubtedly further underline what talented chefs and great local produce we have on the island,’ he said.

Easenmyne’s commercial director, Martina McGibney, added: ‘We're thrilled to be able to sponsor the Eat Jersey Food Festival, which continues to work tirelessly to promote the best Channel Islands produce. It’s a great partnership, working closely with the talented chefs throughout the islands and UK. Our own company ethos compliments this by focusing on delivering success through quality and service to our loyal and longstanding customer base.’

The event, which took place over three days in 2015, has been extended to include a fourth day, thanks to the popularity of the festival, while The Atlantic Hotel’s ongoing charity partner, Durrell, will again be the charity which diners will be raising money for throughout the festival. Last year diners helped to raise more than £7,500 for Durrell and it is hoped that this target will be surpassed this year.

Over the course of the festival, diners can choose to attend four fine-dining gastronomic events at The Atlantic Hotel’s Michelin starred Ocean Restaurant (one Michelin Star, four AA Rosettes), as well as a relaxed beachside feast at sister restaurant Mark Jordan at the Beach (Michelin Bib Gourmand, two AA Rosettes).

On Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November, Mark Jordan and teams of visiting chefs will create five-course menus of locally inspired dishes, with paired wines from Head Sommelier Richard Burton.  Ocean Restaurant will be extending the celebrations into the weekend this year with an exclusive pop up restaurant on Saturday 5th November in partnership with Outlaw’s restaurant, from The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, London. A collaborative menu of beautifully crafted seafood dishes will be available for both lunch and dinner service.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Media partner for the event is the Jersey Evening Post.
