C Le Masurier Limited, a Jersey based property investment and development company, has strengthened its Board with the recent appointment of Michael Covell and Edward Bennett as Non-Executive Directors.
Michael Covell (58), a chartered accountant, is Chairman of the UK financial advisory group Bestinvest. With over 30 years of wealth management experience, he was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Jersey based Hawksford International and, prior to that, managing director of Goldman Sachs' European Private Wealth Management team.
Edward Bennett (46) is a Jersey Advocate and Notary Public. He is a partner of legal and fiduciary services provider Bedell Group and is head of Bedell Cristin's International Private Client group.
Mr Covell and Mr Bennett are both family men who share a keen interest in sport. In his spare time, Mr Covell takes to the slopes for skiing and tobogganing. Mr Bennett’s interests include stand up paddle boarding and travel and he has recently returned from an expeditionary cruise around the Arctic.
Brian McCarthy, Managing Director of Le Masurier, commented:
‘We are exceptionally busy with numerous and substantial investment and development opportunities both on and off the island, including our development of J1 which will be the largest and most sustainable privately funded office building in the Channel Islands - and so the appointment of Mike and Edward as Directors, and the skills and experience they bring, is most welcome. Together with our Chairman Malcolm King, former Senior Partner of King Sturge (now Jones Lang LaSalle), Le Masurier's Board is well structured for our next period of significant growth.’
