Money to be shared between local charities.

Employees at Brooks Macdonald International have worked together to raise over £50,000 for Jersey and Guernsey charities. Fundraising events included flagship golf days at The Royal Jersey Golf Club and La Moye Golf Club, raising over £40,000 for Cancer Research UK (Jersey) and Blood Cancer UK (Jersey branch).

Other activities saw a demonstration of team spirit with 18 employees entering the TMF Round Island Walk and the Jersey Hospice Dragon Boat race. 50 employees also took part in the Grace Crocker Jersey to Southampton Hospital Challenge, making Brooks Macdonald the winner of the Corporate Cup for the organisation with the highest number of entrants.

Throughout 2021, a ‘Charity of the Month’ was also nominated to benefit from a range of fundraising activities such as cake sales and static cycling challenges - all contributing to raising money for charities including Jersey Hospice, Healing Waves, Les Bourgs Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Lion’s Club. The Group’s BM Foundation, set up in 2010 by the staff, for the staff, also supported these sterling efforts in contributing £7,000 across the various charities

There were a number of notable individual fundraising efforts including Outsourcing and Services Standards Manager, Nina Quinn from the Jersey office and Mark Edmonds, Relationship Manager, from the Guernsey office, who both completed sponsored cycles to raise a combined total of more than £4,000 for Macmillan Jersey and Les Bourgs Hospice. Gary Brownbridge in Jersey also undertook a sponsored abseil as part of the Jersey Finance 60th Anniversary Fundraising Week.

Richard Hughes, CEO of Brooks Macdonald International, commented:

“We have an extensive programme of sponsorship and charity work, raising funds for local charities across all offices. Our people are passionate about supporting good causes and this shows in the broad range of charities they have supported, from cancer and child support charities, through to environmental causes. The total amount raised is really impressive and I’m delighted that we have come together to help make such a positive contribution.”
