The Jersey Bulls are due to take part in their first ever Emirates FA Cup match. This month, they’ll be playing and hosting Horsham YMCA in what will be the most southerly fixture in the Cup’s 150-year history. The match, sponsored by Butterfield, takes place at Springfield Stadium on Saturday, 7 August.

Butterfield, a financial services group that has had a presence in the Channel Islands that goes back more than 45 years, has supported the Bulls since 2019 as part of its ongoing commitment to the community.

As history repeats itself, Butterfield was also the match sponsor for the Bulls’ first ever league game back in August 2019, and has been supporting the club from the beginning of its competitive journey. This match will be the Bulls’ debut in the FA Cup, making them the first male team from Jersey to compete in the competition. It will also be the first competitive game played in Jersey for some time due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Noel McLaughlin, Managing Director of Butterfield in Jersey said: “We’ve loved supporting the team as a gold sponsor from its inception and are very honoured to be able to #BackTheBulls in their first ever FA Cup match. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Bulls and the players to showcase their talents in a globally renowned competition and raise Jersey’s profile on the national stage. Best of luck guys, you’ll have Butterfield and the whole island behind you.”

Ian Horswell, Chief Executive Officer of the Bulls, added: “Everyone’s really excited for our FA Cup debut. Having it on home soil is fantastic for the team but also for all our supporters who get to be a part of this historic moment in island football with us. We are, as ever, extremely grateful for Butterfield’s support and, having been there from the start, it only feels right that it is sponsoring such a significant game for the club.”
