Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce Transport Sub-Committee, Confederation of Guernsey Industry (CGi), Institute of Directors (100) and Guernsey International Business Association (GIBA ) have held discussions regarding The Treasury and Resources Department (T&R's) proposed changes to legislation covering Air Route licensing.

We are unconvinced of the need for changes to the existing legislation to limit competition in the airline services to/from the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

We also require greater understanding of the reasons why changes are necessary and again press for the three departments involved with the airlines (T&R, C&E and PSD) to work together to ensure the best outcome for the island.

There should be no new barriers to competition.

Statement issued jointly by:

  • Chamber of Commerce Transport Sub-Committee
  • Confederation of Guernsey Industry
  • Institute of Directors
  • Guernsey International Business Association
