An upcoming breakfast briefing, hosted by C5 Alliance Group, will explore the use of various Microsoft technologies to meet the growing regulatory compliance burden that faces the Channel Islands.

The event, entitled ‘Leveraging Microsoft Technologies for Regulatory Compliance’, will feature live demonstrations of current technologies –Microsoft CRM, SharePoint and SQL Server – to consider how each can be used, individually and in combination, to provide effective solutions.

Here, C5 Alliance will discuss some of the scalable, extensible platforms that can be integrated and deployed to provide companies with self-service management information and regulatory returns from the same agreed set of data. These solutions can provide the data to meet the requirements of FSA liquidity reporting, GFSC Basel II and III returns, Solvency II, UK and US FATCA and banking liquidity behavioural adjustments.

C5 Alliance will also address the technical implications of upcoming regulation such as the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).

Dan Hare, director and head of the Business Intelligence team at C5 Alliance Group, said:

“Our growing team has a unique range of technical and professional qualifications, with great experience in the full spectrum of regulatory reporting, both in the Channel Islands and internationally.

“We are actively engaged in numerous flexible, yet automated, reporting solutions which enable customers with a wide range of legacy source systems to dramatically improve the efficiency and accuracy of their entire reporting function.

“Microsoft’s latest platforms are changing our industry by providing huge value in customisation and integration of ‘out of the box’ functionality rather than requiring expensive, difficult to support code development. The customers benefit from being able to meet the changing regulatory requirements while also having an integrated, fully functioning CRM (customer relationship management) platform, such as in the case of our FATCA reporting solution.

“When implementing these solutions, C5 Alliance always aims to leave customers with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance and expand their own platforms as required.”

Marc Lainé, managing director of C5 Alliance Group, said that the event should help dispel some myths about the growing reporting requirements.

“Often companies assume that data management should be dealt with by an IT department, but in the modern finance industry it is a business critical issue and should be the focus of everyone from board level down.

“Investing in this kind of technology can dramatically help a business in tackling current and future regulatory requirements, providing huge savings to cost and time going forward,” he said.

The event takes place on Thursday, 28th November at the Duke of Richmond Hotel from 8.00am until 09.30am and will interest all business and technical decision makers, particularly those involved in the compliance process.

Places at the seminar are free of charge but advanced online booking is required at: http://www.c5alliance.com/events
