Tickets for the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery draw will go on sale in retail outlets across Jersey from Monday 7 October. The winning numbers will be drawn at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in Guernsey on Thursday 19 December.
As in previous years, tickets are expected to sell fast. As well as the rising first prize, which starts at £300,000, there will be a second prize of £50,000, a third prize of £25,000 and 45 fourth prizes of £500.
Tickets cost £2 each with two entries into the prize draw. The scratch card game has also been improved, with better prizes and improved chances to win with each ‘Santa’ found. Each sealed pack of 50 tickets contains a guaranteed minimum win of £22. Tickets will be available at participating retailers, as well as at Trading Standards in the Central Market and the lottery kiosk on King Street.
Economic Development Minister, Senator Alan Maclean, said: “With all Jersey profits going directly to local Jersey good causes, the Christmas Lottery is not only an exciting event in the Jersey calendar but it is also an opportunity for Islanders to contribute to the valuable ongoing work of our local charities.”
Chair of the Association of Jersey Charities, Philip Callow, added: “The Association of Jersey Charities has been lucky enough to receive the Jersey share of the Channel Islands Lottery profits for many years now and we could not continue our work of helping our member charities without it.”
