In the busy Christmas period, there is nothing more important than the Christmas shop window to attract shoppers through the retailer’s door, increase footfall and encourage customers to buy local. For the 7th year running, St Helier retailers will be asked to dress to impress!
We all know that St Helier retailers are a creative bunch, and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase their talents. The competition is launched on Broad Street at 5.30pm on Thursday 16th November with festive entertainment and mince pies! The winning shops will be announced on Thursday 14th December at 6pm at the Genuine Jersey Spirit of Christmas Market in the Royal Square. The winning retailers will be the recipient of a prize and sticker to display proudly at their premises, and the retailers with the most votes overall will also receive ‘The Christmas Window Trophy’.
The categories are; Department Store, Independent Store, High Street Store, Jewellers and Charity Store. The winner of each category will be 100% determined by the public vote.
Voting opens on Thursday 16th November and closes on Wednesday 13th December. Members of the public can vote by visiting www.sthelier.je/whats-on/christmas-window-competition
Simon Crowcroft says, “I applaud this exciting and fun initiative and encourage all retailers to participate and make this Christmas really special.”
This event is a great opportunity to keep the community motivated about the local retailer and reinforce the message to ‘Buy Local’.
The Christmas Window Competition is kindly sponsored by BBC Radio Jersey and will raise money for BBC Children in Need.
