Closer to Home events return

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

Two new Closer to Home events will take place at the end of June and will deliver activities and services to Islanders at the Library.

The events will take place on:

  • Thursday 24 June, 12pm-2pm
  • Tuesday 29 June, 5pm-7pm

Across these two events, a range of organisations will offer their activities and services free of charge, including:

  • Cancer.je
  • Back to Work
  • Liberate
  • Call & Check
  • The Listening Lounge
  • Move More Jersey
  • Jersey Diabetic Retinal Screening Programme

The events will also include workshops giving Islanders the chance to increase their customer service skills and find out about new jobs.

Minister for Social Security, Deputy Judy Martin, said: “These events are a great way for Islanders to find out about the types of support available in the community.

“These events will both be at the Library and as Jersey moves into a future state of recovery, we will then look to prepare to return to a wider Parish based offer of events, to extend accessibility across the Island later in the year.”

A full itinerary is available at www.gov.je/closertohome.
