Islanders are set to enjoy another summer of FREE family-friendly live music events, thanks to JT’s continued sponsorship of the annual Cobo Bay Hotel Summer Balcony Gigs.
Cobo Bay Hotel has been providing memorable entertainment from its first-floor balcony for locals and visitors alike for more than 30 years. Many top local and UK bands have played there, including some of the best tribute acts in the world. The FREE gigs begin again on 6 May with the world’s best tribute to Madness, concluding on 26 August with a fantastic double header of U2 and The Killers. The gigs also raise money for Leonard Cheshire Disability and the Sarah Groves Foundation.
JT’s Deputy Managing Director in Guernsey, Tamara O’Brien, said: “We have been a sponsor and supporter of these popular summer gigs for seven years now. They’re a fantasticand unique community event and everyone looks forward to them. JT has a long history of supporting music in the Channel Islands and we’re excited to help join artists and audiences together at these popular events. I’d encourage music lovers to put the dates in their diaries and follow JT on Facebook @JTSocial to see all our events, competitions and news. I’ll be going to them all as I do every year!
“A team from JT will also be there to hand out biodegradable and re-usablefreebies, including environmentally friendly bags and we would encourageIslanders to collect and remove rubbish from the area after the event. This is especially important as we have chosen the Marine Biology Section of the Société Guernesiaise as ourpartner charity for 2018 so we want to encourage Islanders to leave Cobo Bay litter free when the music is over.”
David Nussbaumer, organiser of The Cobo Bay Balcony Gigs, said: “Our thanks go to JT for their on-going support, which has helped us to secure some of the best tribute acts on the scene. It promises to be another great summer of music.”
