Collas Crill is now receiving applications for its 2020 Trainee solicitor programme in the Guernsey and Jersey offices.

The firm has places for two trainees in each island's office, to begin in September 2020.

The training programme has been in place for over ten years in Guernsey, and three in Jersey.

Owing to its success, the firm has a retention rate of over 80 per cent of its trainees.

The programme is led by Sean Cheong, Corporate and Banking Partner based in Guernsey.

Sean said: 'We look for candidates with excellent academic credentials and who are also highly motivated individuals.  If you can demonstrate ambition and talent, come and talk to us about your future in law.

'As a highly respected offshore law firm our commitment to training and our investment in future lawyers is second to none.'

The firm offers up to four seats in different practice areas, with opportunities for secondment to a leading firm in London or to a client's in-house legal team during the training.  Financial support may be available for those who have yet to complete their Legal Practice course.

Alex Wileman-Smith, currently a second-year Trainee in the Jersey office, said: 'Collas Crill is a firm with a great culture and friendly, supportive staff. I would strongly encourage anyone considering applying for the programme to do so.

'I have been exposed to a variety of different challenges in each 'seat' as part of the traineeship, meaning I'm building my legal skills and knowledge on a daily basis, helping me to be ready for the next stage in my career.'
