Topical and practical issues for directors, senior managers and senior compliance professionals working in Jersey's regulated financial services industry will be the theme of Collas Crill breakfast seminar being held on Wednesday, 4th October.

Collas Crill partners, Danny Le Maistre (dispute resolution) and Dilmun Leach (funds and regulatory), will be joined by guest speaker, James Purchas of 4 Pump Court Chambers.

James is a highly regarded and experienced barrister who specialises in contentious financial services and insurance matters. He has considerable experience of advising in relation to claims against directors for breach of their duties. He will discuss the trials and tribulations of senior management focusing on potential liabilities. This will include a look at some of the sources and obligations that arise as well as mitigating exposure by D&O insurance with an overview of what is (and is not) covered all with reference to cases.

From Collas Crill, Danny will be exploring directors duties and claims for breach of duty, with a review of some recent case law in Jersey and further afield. Dilmun will be evaluating transactions from a legal and regulatory perspective. He will provide practical tips in relation to regulatory and commercial risks, looking at a case study in a real life scenario.

Danny said: "Regulation and the law  in Jersey is constantly evolving – and it's key that those involved in financial services understand the impact that these changes will have on them their businesses. This is a great opportunity for professionals and practitioners to come together, have an open discussion and share knowledge."
