De Gruchy’s Funeral Care has been recommended by the Good Funeral Guide for the fourth year in a row and remains the only funeral care provider in the Channel Islands to receive the endorsement.

‘Independent endorsement from such a highly regarded organisation is testament to the team at De Gruchy’s Funeral Care. We are committed to providing the highest level of care and understanding to islanders at a very emotional time and I am proud that once again that commitment has been recognised by the Good Funeral Guide,’ said Gary Tye, manager of De Gruchy’s Funeral Care.

The Good Funeral Guide is an independent community interest company, looking to identify and celebrate the work of best practitioners in the funeral industry. It is focused on quality of service, value for money and the understanding of the client families’ needs.

The guide highlighted the team’s caring approach and the respect they show to those who have died as well as the feel of the funeral home and the company’s pledge to work with people, no matter what the budget.

‘All the colleagues at De Gruchy's are dedicated to doing things not “the way they are done” but the way that’s right for you. They will listen to you very carefully and they will be able to make suggestions which will enable you to achieve the funeral that’s right for you and for the person who has died,’ states the guide.

It also highlighted that being part of The Channel Islands Co-operative Society since 2009 had set the bar high for standards and values.

‘The guide has highlighted everything that we are proud of. Bereavement is a difficult time but we know that it is a comfort to people knowing that they are dealing with a professional company which is why this recognition from the Good Funeral Guide, alongside our membership of the National Association of Funeral Directors and the Funeral Planning Authority, is so important,’ said Mr Tye.
