Local church, St Helier Methodist Centre, has received an early Christmas present courtesy of the Jersey Construction Council's (JeCC) charity, the Brick Foundation. Through funds raised by members throughout the year, the centres cafe has had a makeover, designed and delivered by the industry at no cost to the church.

Work included new floors and ceilings, electrical installation, designer furniture, tv, lighting and new wall finishes, all supplied and installed by local firms and contractors.  In an emotional opening ceremony, Reverend Tony Morning thanked the generosity of the industry and in a heartfelt thank you card said 'such generosity will enable all ages and backgrounds to find hospitality, support and laughter in this cafe for years to come.  The Jersey Construction Council has come up trumps and shown the very best o your profession'.

A packed cafe joined in song and prayer leading up to the opening and project designed, Dion Elliot ceremoniously cut the cake and ribbon to officially re-open the cafe.

JeCC Board member and Brick Foundation Chairman, Steve Jewell said ' When we came to see Reverend Tony Morling and his team and saw what great work they did, we immediately wanted to help.  Now having completed this refurbishment that so many people will benefit from, I'm so proud of all the businesses in Jersey's Construction industry, that were so willing to help and put something back into our community'.
