Eliot Lincoln returned to London on Friday to help judge the UK IoD awards 2013 as a member of the judging panel

Eliot Lincoln, CEO of St Helier-based consultancy, Greenlight, and Institute of Directors UK Young Director of the Year 2012, has returned to the UK IoD awards 2013 as a member of the judging panel. Mr Lincoln was delighted to be invited back to the London event this year as one of the judges. This year’s title went to another Jersey man, Eamonn Elliot, General Manager of The Grand Hotel, Jersey. Mr Lincoln was the first Jersey director to win this coveted award last year and now a local business has topped the board for a second time.

Mr Elliot Beat stiff competition from fellow islander, Nigel Mann from Jersey Sports and Spinal Clinic as well as eight other talented finalists from around the British Isles: Karen Carmichael, Managing Director, MXB; Paul Easto, Chief Executive Wilderness Scotland Ltd; Christopher Eccles, Managing Director, ChargePoint Technology Limited; Liam Giles, Managing Director, Spindogs; Derek Hill, Managing Director, Advanced Technology Services UK Ltd; Stephen Kilby, Director, Wharfe Valley Farms; Tom Lavery, Group Director, Asperity Employee Benefits Ltd; Chris Li, CEO, Luxury For Less Ltd.

Open to directors across the business spectrum, the IoD Director of the Year Awards determine first regional UK winners then, through a comprehensive judging process, overall best of British business leaders.

The judges award the winning prize based on compelling evidence demonstrating a company’s outstanding achievements over the previous 12 months, including employee engagement, strategies for growth and policies for ethical and social responsibility, among others.

Greenlight’s remarkable team spirit and unprecedented growth were cited as major factors that led to Lincoln beating candidates from across the UK in 2012. He says, “I am delighted to pass the baton to Eamonn Elliot. He is a worthy winner and definitely one to watch in the future. It’s been a tremendous honour to hold the title of Young Director of the Year.
