Exhibitor registration is now open for the 11th Barclays Jersey Boat Show, which will be held over the Spring Bank Holiday of Saturday 05 to Monday 07 May 2018.

Organised by Ports of Jersey with the operational support of local specialists, 3D Events, the three-day show will take place in and around St Helier Marina, Weighbridge Place and Marina Gardens.

First staged in 2008 as an opportunity to showcase Jersey’s marine leisure industry to a wider audience, the event continues to grow in both size and reputation, regularly attracting in excess of 30,000 visitors over the three days and continues to be the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands.

On behalf of Ports of Jersey, Myra Shacklady, who has been responsible for the overall staging of the show since it was first held in 2008 says, “I am delighted to be heading into our eleventh show in such a strong position. Despite mixed fortunes with the weather during the 2017 event the positive feedback we have received from visitors and exhibitors has been overwhelming with many expressing an interest in signing up for our 2018 show, which is very encouraging. Now that both exhibitor and caterer registrations are open we can focus our attention on a detailed programme of activities, which as always will include something for all the family, whether a mariner or not. While the essence of the show remains firmly focused on maritime based activities its continuing success has been helped by the participation of many other individuals and businesses promoting their lifestyle products and this I firmly believe helps to attract an increasing number of visitors to share and discover our maritime culture”.

The future of the Jersey Boat Show is guaranteed until at least 2019 due to the continuing commercial support of its title sponsor, Barclays. This financial commitment from Barclays ensures that the show can remain a free-entry event, something that organisers have strived to offer since it was first staged in 2008”.

On behalf of Barclays, Managing Director for the Channel Islands, Paul Savery, says, “Every year the Barclays Jersey Boat Show attracts islanders and visitors alike to spend time enjoying a wide variety of activities in and around the harbour. There is always a great range of exhibitors and the show is a wonderful example of what makes Jersey special. We at Barclays are proud to be supporting it again in 2018”.

The 2018 show will once again provide an eclectic mix of entertainment both on and off the water, including the Main Stage programme of musical performances, live demonstrations and without doubt the continuing presence of the Royal Navy. Full details of activities and participants will be posted on the official website, jerseyboatshow.com as well as associated social media sites as and when confirmed.

Due to the popularity of previous shows with exhibitor spaces filling up quickly, organisers are urging anyone interested in the 2018 event to sign up without delay to avoid disappointment as registrations remains available on a first come basis. All exhibitor and caterer rates remain unchanged from the 2017 tariffs and an ‘Early Bird’ incentive rate is available to those who confirm their participation prior to January 2018.
