A Jersey production company has become one of the few 4K (ultra HD) and stereoscopic 3D production facilities south of London and is the only one in the Channel Islands.

PBS Media, part of the PBS Group have made a considerable investment in the latest digital technology that has turned heads in the broadcast community in London with industry reports acknowledging that Jersey is now firmly competing within the UK broadcast arena.

The new facility aims to attract senior UK producers to Jersey with competitive rates and inclusive packages of flights and hotel accommodation to take advantage of the superb backdrop of the islands natural beauty.

PBS Media, formed out of a merger between Richard Hall of Hall TV and Tony Le Tiec of the PBS Group, also acquired Spike Productions in April and have now firmly established themselves as the largest independent production facility in the Channel Islands.

Richard Hall  MD of PBS Media has produced and directed more than 600 programmes and 300 commercials said: “The launch of this new state of the art production facility really marks exciting times in Jersey’s digital era.”

PBS Group now have a considerable portfolio of companies including office technologies and supplies, financial services, insurance, data services and with a recent acquisition of the second largest office equipment company in Guernsey with OS Solutions, the PBS Group have established a true pan Island operation.

Group Chairman Tony Le Tiec said he was thrilled that his business vision of a one-stop destination has now become a reality: “The recent mergers and acquisitions completes the ‘all under one roof’ concept now branded as 40/40. Our established partnerships with leading global corporations combined with our local services, gives our loyal customers a fantastic opportunity to create efficiency”.

Mr Hall said: “The launch of PBS Media was a natural progression for the PBS Groups existing clients, as they will all benefit from the move into content production. We have seen considerable growth in the 2nd quarter especially with the explosion of social media as more and more businesses use video for internal and external communications with health and safety, training, CSR, video news releases and business profiles. It’s a very exciting time for the group”.

The PBS Media team all well respected in the broadcast industry, include former BBC and ITV broadcast journalist and producer Gillian Martindale, senior editor, producer and cameraman Alex Bond, 2D and 3D motion graphic designer Daniel d’Avoine and ex ITV Siobhan East heads up media sales.
Along with corporate work, PBS Media also produce documentary series for sports, wildlife and travel for major networks in the UK and US.
