Grant Thornton were delighted to welcome Frank Bruno to talk to staff and guests at the Jersey Rugby Club on Thursday 6th December about his mental health issues, his charitable work in this area and he also talked about some of his sporting achievements. Grant Thornton has a Health and Wellbeing programme for their staff and every month focuses on a different aspect. The talk was very relevant as December’s theme is Stress with January’s being mental health.
Over 75 people attended and Frank took questions from Grant Thornton’s Managing Director Adam Budworth and the attendees.
Adam Budworth said “It was fascinating to hear about Frank’s experiences in relation to his sporting career and some of his personal challenges around his own mental health. He also spoke about his charity and its focus on exercise and healthy living in helping individuals deal with stress and stress related matters. He also highlighted, from his personal experience, that if these issues are not addressed early enough they can manifest into longer term mental health issues. The session was timely given our themes for December and January.
We also had representatives of Mind Jersey in attendance and were delighted they were able to share some of the important activities and services they provide in dealing with Mental Health. The session was captivating for the staff and guests alike in addressing what is a serious matter.
