The National Trust for Jersey’s Georgian House Museum and Shop is due to open for its fourth consecutive season on 25th March 2015.

Reflecting on the 2014 season, House Manager Chris Addy stated: "16 New Street has received an average of 96% over 87 reviews on Trip Advisor, which is hugely encouraging to our dedicated volunteers and staff. Additionally, last year brought a gratifying rise in revenue generated through the corporate and private hire of the house and ticket sales for public events."

Visitors in 2015 shall be able to enjoy new additions to wealth of antiques and artifacts on display, including several delightful early 19th century Staffordshire pottery figurines and two fine apprentice cabinets recently donated by a private benefactor. Also, thanks to the generous support of the ‘One Foundation’, we shall shortly be launching a guide book which shall be available for public sale in the museum shop, and distributed free to primary schools.’

The house opens with a varied schedule of events, the first of which is ‘Sparkling Fantasies’, a talk about Russian Imperial Jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé by Peter Le Rossignol on 9th April. This is followed by ‘Glorious Georgian Gastronomy’, part of the Jersey Food Festival and sponsored by Jersey Tourism, which will encourage visitors to savour period recipes in our living history kitchen on 21st-22nd May.

16 New Street will be open from 10am-5pm each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 25th March until 30th October, excluding Good Friday 3rd April.

Further details can be found in our widely available 2015 guide, ‘Explore with the National Trust for Jersey’, and on our website www.nationaltrust.je
