Jersey-based Trust company, Garfield-Bennett Trust Company, has announced a merger with the Isle of Man based trust and corporate service provider, Cavendish Trust Company.

Garfield-Bennett was incorporated in Jersey in 2004 to manage the trust business of Garfield-Bennett English Solicitors. Garfield-Bennett has a significant global client portfolio with a truly diverse asset base.

Established in 2006, Cavendish Trust has developed into one of the Isle of Man’s leading corporate and trust service providers with a varied international client base, which includes the niche areas of aviation, space, eGaming, and foundation services.

Garfield-Bennett Managing Director, William Bennett, commented: “We now have in excess of 100 years of combined senior level trust and fiduciary experience upon which we can draw and we believe the merger will enable us to maximise the potential of our complementary operations and deliver outstanding levels of service, across a very broad range of trust and corporate service disciplines.”

Cavendish Trust Managing Director, James Cunningham-Davis, added: “The combined strength of the two businesses, with offices in Douglas and St Helier, will create a highly-experienced, cross-jurisdictional trust, corporate and fund services company.”

The companies now form part of the same group and Mr Bennett confirmed that the plan was for both companies to continue trading under their current names for the immediate future.
