The Canaccord Genuity Corporate Cup, a 5km race series designed to help businesses promote and encourage a healthy way of life to all its employees, is back for the seventh year. The St. Helier seafront will become the racing ground for competing Jersey businesses commencing on Wednesday 24 April, which is the first of the six events of this popular 5km lunchtime racing series.

The remaining races are planned for 22 May, 19 June, 10 July, 21 August with the final race on 18 September. All races will start from Liberation Tree, Waterfront alongside the Radisson Hotel and finish at Les Jardins de la Mer. Entries are now open and local firms can go online and sign up to compete for the coveted team and individual race titles.

As part of Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management’s #cando philosophy, this community focused event promotes physical well-being by encouraging participants to adopt an active lifestyle. It also supports the incredible work that the Jersey Sports for the Disabled do in the local community as part of the entry fee will be donated to the JSAD.  “We welcome the opportunity to support our local community and believe an active lifestyle leads to renewed enthusiasm in the workplace.  As part of our #cando campaign our message is that anyone and everyone can take part in these races and we look forward to seeing a larger participation this year with more businesses taking up the challenge.,” comments Grahame Lovett, CEO Offshore at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management.

The race series is co-ordinated by Digby Ellis-Brecknell of ‘Run Jersey’.  Commenting further, he added, “We continue to promote running as a healthy and enjoyable activity to everyone, encouraging mixed, men’s, and ladies’ teams into this fun but competitive event. These lunchtime races give local runners an opportunity to take a break from their working day, get away from the desk and take part in fun and healthy exercise with their co-workers and peers.”

Team entry for six race series can be secured for £240 and individual entry for the series is available for £60. More information about the Corporate Cup and how to enter can be found online at www.runjersey.co.uk.
