Resurfacing of Gorey Coast Road started on Monday 4 March meaning sections of the road will be closed for approximately 4 weeks.
Road closures will take place from Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 18:00 with lane closures between 09:00 and 20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
For the duration of the works the Route 1, 1A & 2 services will terminate at Longbeach carpark with shuttle bus services in place for access to Gorey Pier and St Catherine.
Although temporary bus stops and shuttle services will be in place as detailed below, LibertyBus are encouraging all passengers travelling in to town from Gorey to walk to Longbeach carpark, if they are able, where they can pick up a regular Route 1, 1A or 2 service.
During the first phase:
Routes 1 & 1A:A shuttle bus service will take passengers between Longbeach and Gorey Pier. Access to the Gorey Pier bus stop will be maintained for the shuttle service only.
Route 2:A shuttle bus service will take passengers between Longbeach and St Catherine. The shuttle bus will travel through Gorey Village and then continue along the normal Route 2 route, following the Route 2 timetable. All bus stops between Devon Gardens and St Catherine will be serviced by the shuttle bus. There will be no temporary stops through Gorey Village.
Route 13: This service will have no access to Gorey Pier. Stops at Mont de Gouray and Gorey Pier will not be serviced. The bus will wait time at the Le Monts stop (near Ransoms) to follow its usual timetable.
During the second phase:
Routes 1 & 1A:A temporary stop will be placed at south west end of the roadworks. A shuttle bus services will run between Longbeach and the temporary stop, back to Beach Road, through Gorey village and on to Gorey Pier.
Route 2:A shuttle bus service will follow the same route as above but continue on to St Catherine after Gorey Pier.
Route 13:This service will return to normal with access to Gorey Pier.
During the third phase:
Routes 1 & 1A:Stops at Les Residences and Clos du Rivage North & South will not be in use. Temporary stops will be placed at the south west and north east ends of the works. A shuttle bus service will run from Longbeach to the first temporary stop, back to Beach Road, though Gorey village to Gorey Pier, along to second temporary stop and back again via the one way system.
Route 2:A shuttle bus service will follow the same route as above but will go on to St Catherine after the second temporary stop.
During the final phase:
Routes 1 & 1A:The Clos du Rivage South stop will be closed. Close du Rivage North and Les Residences will re-open. A temporary stop will be placed on the north east side of the roadworks. A shuttle bus services will run from Longbeach to Union Road, around to Gorey Pier, along to the temporary stop and back again via the one way system.
Route 2:A shuttle bus service will follow the same route as above but will go on to St Catherine after the temporary stop.
Please note:
Outside of road closure hours and on Saturdays and Sundays all services will run as normal but please expect some delays due to lane closures.
Timings of when each phase will be completed is to be communicated during the course of the works.
