As part of the ongoing Let’s Talk Brexit public engagement campaign, the Government of Jersey is inviting Islanders to complete a survey giving their views on Brexit and the potential impact it will have on Island life. Their responses will assist the government in understanding the issues most important to residents, which will help inform the development of future policy and feed into the Brexit negotiations to ensure the best outcome for Jersey.
The survey, which is available from Tuesday 2nd May 2017, can be completed online at www.gov.je/letstalkbrexit. Printed copies of the survey will also be available from all Parish Halls, Cyril Le Marquand House and the Jersey Citizens Advice Bureau, alongside paid-reply envelopes. The deadline for responses is Friday 19th May 2017.
The Government of Jersey confirmed that all information given in the survey will be anonymous and treated in the strictest confidence. No individual identifiable data will be shared with any other States department and any comments made in response to the open-ended questions will be checked to ensure they cannot identify the person responding or any individual being referred to.
The Let’s Talk Brexit campaign was launched on 8 March 2017, and the government have already received over 130 lines of enquiry from members of the public via social media, email and telephone. Several ‘vox pop’ videos, where Islanders are asked to give their comments and thoughts on Brexit will also be filmed around the Island in the coming weeks.
A further survey, for completion by Island businesses, will be produced in June.
