Nurses who work in the island’s Special Care Baby Unit are being treated to a spa day at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa.
The team at the AA Five Star St Helier Hotel wanted to show their appreciation for everything nurses do and popped into the ward at the General Hospital to give them some luxury skincare products and a special pass to some ‘me time’.
Staff and guests at the hotel have been supporting Friends of SCBU, the local charity dedicated to raising funds for Jersey’s Special Care Baby Unit for more than five years. During that time, they have raised more than £27,000 for the unit that provides essential treatment for premature and sick babies in the island.
Simon Miller General Manager of Hand Picked Hotels Jersey said, “National nurses day is celebrated in May each year and we felt that this was the perfect time for us to give something back to our fantastic nurses who work so hard to ensure babies get the best start in life.”
