Intertrust has teamed up with Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity to supply 12 young islanders with bags containing essential school items.
The bags were given to young people, aged 10 to 17, who are not able to purchase school items themselves. The items included were vouchers for Amazon, WHSmith and Paperchase along with notepads and pens to support young people through their education. Intertrust also made a separate donation to the charity to support the initiative.
Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity aims to improve the lives of children and young people in care in Jersey by supporting them through difficult times, identifying and addressing their unmet needs and thereby restoring their self confidence and trust in those around them as they mature and grow.
Helene Senior, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Intertrust in Jersey, said: “At Intertrust we aim to help projects that support youth and education in the island so this was the perfect fit for us. We wanted to include vouchers in the bags to give each child the opportunity and choice to personalise their school supplies.
“Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity does an amazing job at helping vulnerable young people and we are proud to support them.”
Steve Harvey, Chief Executive at Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity, said: “We are very grateful that Intertrust has donated the school bags for the children and young people that we support. The bags contained essential items that will help the young people with their learning and education.
