Charities in Jersey have just a few days left to get their nominations in for this year’s Jersey Charity Awards and give themselves an opportunity to showcase their outstanding recent achievements.

Nominations for the Awards, which are designed to highlight professionalism and excellence, celebrate charities’ achievements and champion best practice in the charitable sector, close on 10th July 2023 and can be made by completing the online application form at www.jerseycharities.org.

There are three categories for this year’s Awards, which are once again supported by the Ana Leaf Foundation and Jersey Finance:

  • Outstanding Achievement for a Large Charity

  • Outstanding Achievement for a Medium Charity

  • Outstanding Achievement for a Small Charity

Winners will be announced at a special Afternoon Tea Awards Ceremony on Sunday 17thSeptember, held in the grounds of Government House, with a £5,000 prizeto be awarded to the winner of each category. There will also be prizes for two runners up in each category.

The Awards are open to any Jersey-based charity that has registeredwith the Charity Commission, and Island charities whose work is based overseas are also eligible to enter.

Chairman of the Association of Jersey Charities, Kevin Keen, said:With local charities having been through a turbulent time over the past couple of years and now facing the impact of a cost-of-living crisis, these Awards offer a real opportunity to celebrate the amazing things they do and highlight the massive impact they have in our day to day lives. With our nomination deadline now approaching, I’d encourage any charitable organisation in Jersey to put themselves forward.”

Commenting on the impact on winning in the last Awards in 2021, Fiona Vacher, CEO of the Jersey Child Care Trust, said:

“Winning the Outstanding Medium Charity category in 2021 gave us all such a boost.  It was also a very useful indicator for others of the quality and impact that we have on children and families in Jersey. We have proudly used our winner’s logo wherever we can to tell others of our award.”
