Support during Macmillan’s annual fundraising event, the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on Friday 27 September.
Now in its 23rd year, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning encourages people to get together with friends, family and colleagues to enjoy a slice of cake and a coffee to help raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
The staff have organised alongside their coffee and cake sales for a number of their Doctors to row the equivalent distance from Sark to Jersey by way of a rowing relay in their lobby. A raffle and a count the coffee beans in the coffee jar will also be held to help boost their fundraising and beat the amount they raised last year.
Stephen Robinson, Practice Manager said: “It’s amazing to think how much of a difference something as simple as a cup of coffee or a piece of cake can make to the lives of so many, and we’re delighted to again this year be assisting the local Macmillan Cancer Support with their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. We hope our patients and customers come into the surgery on Friday morning for a coffee and a piece of cake and help support this great cause.”
Two million people in the UK are living with cancer, and one in three will be diagnosed during their lifetime. Every donation, whether 50p or £50, will help the Macmillan team provide support every step of the way. They are the Macmillan nurses and therapists helping people through treatment, the experts on the end of the phone, the benefits advisers, and the campaigners improving cancer care.
