2022 marks the 25th year of Child Accident Prevention!

Every year CAP hosts the annual Safety in Action event where Year 5 students from schools across the island participate in interactive workshops and learn important and practical information on safety.

A right of passage for all children in Jersey, the event supports awareness of risks and therefore prevents accidents in the home.

Between Monday 4 July and Wednesday 13 July this year’s event will feature safety briefings from FNHC’s partners States of Jersey Police, States of Jersey Ambulance Service, Jersey Fire & Rescue, St John Ambulance Jersey, Jersey Electricity and The Bosdet Foundation! We are expecting over 1,100 Year 5 children from over 30 of the islands primary schools to get involved.

There will be six workshops including PLAY SAFETY, ROAD SAFETY, FIRE PREVENTION, WATER SAFETY, KITCHEN SAFETY and FIRST AID. Children will be given a safety quiz before they attend and then they are given the same quiz again in September SOJ that FNHC can check their learning.
