Residents at Jersey Cheshire Home have a busy week ahead thanks to the team at Jacksons.
The local motor dealership has donated £1,500 to help them string out the bunting and celebrate His Majesty the King’s Coronation and Jersey’s Liberation in style.
They will be dressing up in patriotic red, white and blue and kicking off the celebrations by going out for afternoon tea in Trinity on 4th May.
Foolish Things, a Jersey-based vocal harmony duo will be joining them back at the Home on Saturday when Arthur Parkes and Mia Mannion will entertain them on guitar and double-bass playing top covers and some originals.
Residents will get to watch the Coronation ceremony and all the celebrations on a big screen with some afternoon aperitifs.
The Coronation Big Lunch is a nationwide act of celebration and friendship on Sunday 7th May and Jersey Cheshire Home will be getting involved too with a big BBQ.
The celebrations turn to the Island’s Liberation on 9th May when Terry Arthur jazzes things up with a sing-a-long and they will all be singing the ever popular, classic swing jazz numbers.
Commenting on their support, Andrew Searle, General Manager at Jacksons said, “We are delighted to be giving back to the community and supporting Jersey Cheshire Home which provides such vital support and wellbeing services for islanders with disabilities. We hope everyone has a great time celebrating these historic occasions.”
Donna Abel CEO at Jersey Cheshire Home said, “We’re really grateful to Jacksons for their very kind contribution. Our residents are really looking forward to the events we have planned in what promises to be a fun and very special week in all of our lives.”
