At a recent meeting, the English FA Leagues Committee approved to move forward with the Jersey Bulls FC application to join the National League System.
Representatives of the English FA will be visiting Jersey on November 29th to complete a ground grading inspection of Springfield Stadium, the proposed ground for Jersey Bulls FC, and to finalise details for the club to join the English Leagues.
Jersey Bulls FC will affiliate directly with the Jersey FA and then, following the FA Leagues Committee approval, will become members of the Combined Counties at their next AGM. By being members of the Combined Counties, the club is then included in the National League System.
Russell Le Feuvre, co-founder and Director of Operations at Jersey Bulls FC, said: “We have been in discussion with the English Leagues for some time and are pleased to welcome them to Jersey. We hope to complete final affiliation details with the Jersey FA before the English FA arrive, so this visit will be a chance for the directors of Jersey Bulls FC to showcase our vision and outline our plans for the future.”
He added: “We feel we have a model which will offer an exciting new challenge for the island’s top players and a pathway for juniors progressing through Jersey football, whilst also accommodating local football clubs. We’re advocating for players to be dual-registered for Jersey Bulls FC and for a Jersey league club, allowing players to play in the Jersey league if they haven’t been selected or when there is no Jersey Bulls FC match.”
Findings from the visit will be presented to the English FA Leagues Committee on December 4thwhere it is hoped that approval is given for Jersey Bulls FC to join the Combined Counties League for the start of the 2019/2020 season.
