We had a fantastic team consisting of a marathon runner and two relay teams with one supporter taking part in the Virtual London Marathon. Fundraising for JHSG is vital to continue the different projects we support to help improve cardiac care on the Island during increasing financial pressures.

Mr Elliott Dorey ran his first ever marathon, who finished in an amazing 3hrs 11minutes which was in the top twenty. His fantastic efforts has meant that he raised over £500 for the charity which will help fund 1 year of exercise classes for our members.

The charity was fortunate to gain sponsorship from Fox to pay for a relay team and with thanks to Logan McGhee Fitness we were able to field two teams of runners in the Relay. The “Fox Jersey Hearts” team of runners had a superb run finishing in 10th place. The “Logan McGhee Fitness Jersey Hearts” team finished in a very credible time of just over 4 hours.

The Virtual London Marathon was also held Sunday and Tracey Jeanne, who had heart surgery only 6 months ago, decided to walk the marathon with her friend. The pair managed to complete the 26.2 mile walk in a very speedy 7 hours and have managed to raise over £300, a sum that will help fund further training for local Cardiac nurses.

The Jersey Heart Support Group would like to say a big thank you to all our fundraisers taking part in both marathons and also to Fox for sponsoring a relay team and together helping to boost the charities fundraising by Charlotte McCann, Chair of JHSG thanked all of the participants fundraising for JHSG:

“a huge thank you to our dedicated team for raising these important funds, they have raised an amazing £1800, which would cover the cost of purchasing and placing a defibrillator in a accessible public location for example. Every penny of these funds will be spent on Island to support Cardiac Care in Jersey, keeping local hearts beating”.
