South Coast Charity Challenge organisers Jersey Mencap are delighted to share that this year’s event will take place on Sunday 19th May 2024.

The charity, supporting people with learning disabilities, is proud to be hosting the annual fundraiser for the 16th year!  Starting at La Rocque the walk hugs the coastline all the way to Corbiere, clocking up 15 miles along the way and attracting 400 plus participants.

The sponsored walk brings in £10,000 - £15,000 of much needed funds to support a range of projects for those with a learning disability on our island.  These include the Pond Project, Taking Part Making Art, Book Club, and a busy schedule of social activities including walks, zumba, yoga, film nights, dinner & discos and much more for their 154 members!

Chair, John Hutchins said “This is our main annual fundraiser and a great achievement for will who take part – last year’s 10-year-old and 82-year-old finishers are testament to this!  We always get such positive feedback on the coastal walk and beautiful views it provides. So please think about fundraising with your feet this year, and helping our charity to keep up the good work, by registering today!”

The event offers an alternative shorter, accessible walk for members and anyone who would like to join too.  If you are interested to find out more then check the website for details and help the Jersey Mencap team, make this year another success by signing up.

Adult on- line registration on RaceNation is £25.00 with a walker pack and t-shirt, included.

You can register on-line via the website www.jerseymencap.org
