A Physiotherapist from Jersey is up against 12 other UK business leaders to become the Institute of Directors (IoD’s) ‘Young Director of the Year’. Nigel Mann, of The Jersey Sports & Spinal Clinic (The JSSC) is the only physiotherapist amongst the 53 finalists in the Awards, which are open to directors from all business sectors.  The Finals this year take place in London on 11 October.

Six years ago Nigel established private physiotherapy practice The JSSC, together with his wife Lisa who is also a qualified physiotherapist.  In a highly competitive local environment with over 15 private practices operating in a small geographical area, The JSSC has captured a large proportion of the Island’s private physiotherapy market since its inception.  The practice now has over 4,500 clients cared for by 13 experienced practitioners and operates from purpose-built premises in Gloucester Street, which are fully equipped with the latest technology including a rehab gym and Pilates studio.

The IoD awards seek to recognise directors both locally and nationally as leaders in their field. Nigel has reached the Final by first being selected as a local winner in Jersey earlier in the year. There are 12 Finalists in the 2013 Young Director category, which requires directors to be under the age of 42 and to be able to demonstrate ‘outstanding achievements’ at work in the last 12 months.
