The second Jersey International Pension Conference will take place at the Royal Yacht Hotel this Friday and will welcome approximately one hundred delegates to a conference that will focus on the role and design of pensions in the future and the impact of technology on the industry.

The conference, which is delivered in association with The Jersey Pensions Association and sponsored by Intertrust, is a central platform for industry professionals, regulators and politicians to share and discuss topical issues and network with their peers.

Tania Bearryman, head of Performance & Reward Management at Intertrust, said: “We're proud to be the headline sponsor of the Jersey International Pensions Conference again this year. The Channel Islands have a long history of providing pension services to a range of international clients and are home to an experienced set of pension experts. We’re looking forward to a day of discussions on topics that affect everyone, not just those who work in the industry.”

Delegates will attend from Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, UK and will include pension providers, trust and investment professionals, pension scheme trustees, pension administrators, employee benefit consultants, independent financial advisors, employers and legal professionals.

Presentations from industry experts will cover: the implications of the financial revolution on the sector; the role technology is playing in pension administration; managing tax risk in pension schemes; offshore pensions and ownership of UK property and UK defined benefit transfers.

David Holmes of First Actuary who founded the Jersey International Pension Conference, said: “For 2018, there will be a focus on increasing the scope of the

conference to include more ‘domestic’ pension issues relevant to the Channel Islands, in particular through the use of break-out sessions, which are sponsored by Fairway Group. These will cover the role of the digital advisor, developments in pension regulation and auto-enrolment in Guernsey and the role of the Channel Islands in Middle Eastern pensions.
