Leadership Jersey are pleased to announce their next event, Leadersmithing - Crafting leaders of character for Jersey working in partnership with Business Connect, will take place on Wednesday 27th September 2017 at the Freedom Centre (Former Odeon Cinema, St Helier.
Our guest speaker will be Dr Eve Poole, followed by a Panel discussion lead by Simon Nash.
A bit about Dr Eve Poole
Eve is adjunct faculty at Ashridge Business School and specialises in leadership and character. She has a BA from Durham, an MBA from Edinburgh, and a PhD in theology and capitalism from Cambridge. Before she joined Ashridge in 2002, her career involved working for the Church Commissioners and for Deloitte Consulting, where she specialised in change management for the Financial Services sector. At Ashridge Eve has pioneered a new approach to the accelerated development of leaders, using ground-breaking neurobiological research. She is Chairman of Gordonstoun School in Moray, and of Faith in Business at Ridley Hall in Cambridge. She is a Research Associate of the St Paul's Institute in London and the William Temple Foundation in Manchester. and she serves on the boards of Theos, the think tank, and St Andrews Voices, the music festival. Eve blogs for several think tanks, and has recorded a popular TEDx about her latest book, Leadersmithing.
She is a regular contributor to Thought for the Day for Radio Scotland, and lives in Edinburgh.
As a published author on the topic of "Leadersmithing" a copy of Eve's book is included in the ticket price.
Our Panel will be chaired by
Simon Nash –Simon read Law at Bristol University and then spent a thirty year HR career in the Technology, Finance and Professional Services sectors. He holds the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and also Membership of the British Psychological Society. Simon is involved in a number of collaborative ventures, including helping to run Insight, a Jersey based business, which helps local businesses to grow, through the application of great ideas.
Joining Simon and Eve on the Panel will be
Kevin Keen, Founder of Leadership Jersey, with over 40 year’s experience of working in various leadership roles, including Finance Director of Le Riche Group, Managing Director of Jersey Dairy, Chairman of Jersey Water, Chief Executive of Jersey Post, Advisor to the States of Jersey, and most recently Interim Chief Executive of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. Over the last few years he has become particularly interested in the contribution leaders make to organizational success and failure.
Senator Ian Gorst, Chief Minister for States of Jersey and an is an accountant with significant experience in private client, private equity and retail fund sectors. He was first elected for the States of Jersey in 2005 and served as Minister for Social Security before being elected Chief Minister on 14 November 2011. He was re-elected to the role on 3rd November 2014 after topping the poll and successfully retaining his Senatorial seat.
Emma Pannenbourg was born and educated in Jersey, and completed her Honours degree in Business and Management at the University College Jersey (UCJ) in Partnership with Plymouth University. As part of her final year dissertation she undertook research into leadership development in Jersey and shared some of her findings at Leadership Jerseys conference held in October 2016.
