Last month, 100 special ‘pink’ afternoon teas were served at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month raising £1,000 to help islanders battling the disease.

Executive Head Chef Andrew Soddy prepared the delicious ‘pink’ menu with £10 from each tea going directly to After Breast Cancer Care, the Jersey charity supporting women with breast cancer.

The special afternoon tea included all sorts of dainty delicacies from egg and radicchio mayonnaise sandwiches and smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber served on beetroot bread to pretty pink sweet treats like raspberry macaroons and pink velvet Victoria sponge.

General Manager Simon Miller said, “We had some fantastic feedback from guests who really enjoyed Andrew’s ‘pink inspired’ savoury finger sandwiches and sweet treats. It was a great way for people to relax and experience a fabulous afternoon tea with a difference, whilst supporting such a fantastic local charity.”
