On Tuesday evening, His Excellency Vice Admiral Kyd CBE visited the Leonis Amateur Boxing Club based at the South Hill Gym.
He met with club officials and watched the senior boxers undertaking an arduous training session.
His Excellency then took the opportunity to meet boxers from all age groups and learnt from the members just how integrated the club is with the Jersey community.
His Excellency was highly impressed by the standard of the boxing and remarked on the dedication and commitment needed to be successful in the ring.
