Patrick Burke, owner of The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant and co-owner of Mark Jordan at the Beach has nothing but praise for the work of Executive Head Chef Mark Jordan, Restaurant Manager Martinho de Sousa and Head Sommelier Sergio dos Santos, “It has been quite a week for us, on Monday we received news of our success at the AA Awards Dinner in London and today we're thrilled to have received confirmation that the hotel has retained its Michelin star and at the same time our beachside bistro has retained its Michelin Bib Gourmand. I cannot stress too much how incredibly proud we are of every single member of our team who work tirelessly to maintain such extremely high standards of food and service.”
Ocean Restaurant was first awarded Michelin star status in 2007 having been singled out with a Michelin Rising Star in 2006 and specialises in modern British cooking with the emphasis on fresh local produce. Over the years Ocean has become a firm favourite with local and visiting foodies alike. Mark Jordan at the Beach offers a more relaxed alternative in an informal setting and was first awarded Bib Gourmand status in 2012.
