With the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon just under three weeks away, the excitement is growing!

Organisers are looking forward to welcoming over 2,000 runners to the Marathon, Ravenscroft Relay Race and Marathon Mile sponsored by the Jersey Development Company on Sunday 2 October.

This event is the largest mass participation sporting event on the Island and one of the biggest community and fund-raising events in Jersey’s calendar. Each year the organisers seek the support of over three hundred volunteers to help deliver a safe and successful event for the Island and this year they are now urgently seeking an additional eighty course marshals to help ensure a safe event and support runners as they take on 26.2 miles around the Island.

Volunteer course marshals require no previous experience and will be provided with a packed lunch on the day and transported and collected to a location of the course. The primary role of a marshal is to point runners in the right direction and encourage them as they run past. Volunteering at the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon is rewarding and allows the wider community to directly support the safety and success of the event and enhance Jersey’s reputation as a friendly and well organised marathon.

This year the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon will take place on Sunday 2 October. To volunteer please visit www.jersey-marathon.com/event-info/volunteering/ to complete our online volunteering form.
