Mourant Ozannes' Jersey Managing Partner, Jonathan Speck, has been elected as an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.
A Jersey advocate, Jonathan was called to the English Bar in 1990 and sworn in as a Jersey advocate in 1994. He specialises in commercial litigation, principally involving high value and complex contentious and non-contentious trust cases in Jersey, and is rated by Citywealth as one of the Top 5 contentious trust lawyers in the world.
Membership to the Academy is by invitation only and all Academicians must have practiced law in the Academy's areas of interest for at least 10 years, distinguishing themselves through lecturing, writing or via participation in professional organisations.
Commenting on his appointment, Jonathan said: "It is a real honour to be elected for membership of this esteemed organisation, which brings together practitioners from all over the world who are committed to sharing knowledge for the continued improvement and development of the law. I am very grateful to my partners and team at Mourant Ozannes who support me."
Mourant Ozannes' Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said: "The Academy's membership is highly selective and we are very proud that Jonathan's expertise, dedication and extensive contributions to his profession have been recognised in this way."
Jonathan speaks regularly on trusts and private client matters, both in Jersey and throughout the world. He joins Mourant Ozannes partner Tony Pursall who was elected as an academician in 2016.
