Jersey Community Foundation will shortly be closing applications for their latest round of funding, with the deadline approaching on Sunday, 20th November.
The funding is split between three funds namely, WO Street Charitable Fund, Ann Alice Raynor Fund and Greville Bathe Fund. Each provide financial aid to those that need it within the Jersey community, whether specifically to improve outcomes amongst impoverished children, to support those in financial difficulty, or to aid those with health conditions and the elderly.
Anna Terry, CEO of Jersey Community Foundation said:
“This winter will present many challenges for our community and the charities that seek to help them. Amidst rising interest rates, soaring bills and the highest property and rental market Jersey has ever seen, record numbers of our community are finding themselves in need of charity. We know that demand has been unprecedented for the likes of Community Savings, St Vincent de Paul and many others that work to support those in need. We hope these funds provide some relief to families, individuals, and charities during what will be a challenging Christmas period and beyond.”
A small sample of previous funded projects from within the same JCF funds include: providing vital funds for electricity vouchers and hygiene packs with St Vincent de Paul (£10,000); providing support to families of children in Jersey with illnesses requiring off- Island treatment with Families First (£10,000); assisting in setting up a 20 bed women only facility for homeless or abused and vulnerable women with Shelter (£40,000); supporting families with Brighter Futures (£40,000) and providing essential support, information and services to people in Jersey who are affected by brain injury with Headway (£15,000).
Funding criteria is in place, but the JCF encourages enquiries to scope out projects forpossible funding with their grants team.
