As part of Jersey Employer’s Network on Disability’s (JEND) regular breakfast meetings Dr Adam Garnett will be speaking about his experiences as Doctor on the Aquatics events at last year’s Paralympic Games. This free event offers an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded organisations looking to support greater diversity in the workplace. The seminar will take place at the Pomme D’Or Hotel on Tuesday 19 November from 8am-10am.
Dr Garnett attended the Paralympics London 2012 as Sports Medicine Doctor and is the Honorary Doctor to the Jersey Special Ability and Disabled Swim Team. He is also Hon. Doctor to the Jersey Commonwealth Sports Team, and having attended Melbourne in 2006 and Delhi in 2010 is looking forward to Glasgow 2014 where he will also be the Medical Team Manager. He is also on the Organising Committee, and Head of Medical Services, for the Jersey 2015 Island Games, and is Medical Director to Jersey High Performance Elite Sport Programme.
Sally Gallichan, Chairman of JEND says,
“I am delighted that Dr Garnett can join us to speak about his experiences from behind the scenes of the London Paralympics 2012. Such inspiration will lend rise to discussion around how to support people to achieve their full potential in the workplace and in so doing look beyond the disability. We will explore the concepts of making reasonable adjustments within a commercial setting and offer advice on where to find the right support to achieve this.”
Dr Garnett’s presentation will cover the following areas:
