John Waterman has been appointed as commercial director for Rabeys Group Limited, the Channel Island’s leading commercial vehicle business.
John Waterman has been appointed as commercial director for Rabeys Group Limited, the Channel Island’s leading commercial vehicle business.
This is a new senior management position within Rabeys, and in this role, Mr Waterman will assist Gary Rouget, managing director, with the day-to-day running of the group’s operations in Guernsey and Jersey.
Mr Waterman studied for his ACCA qualification and has now embarked upon gaining a BSc Honours degree in Applied Accounting which he plans to complete early in 2014. Attaining this qualification will prove invaluable in support of his new role and demonstrates Mr Waterman’s commitment to continuous learning and a desire to keep pace with new developments and industry best practice.
Mr Waterman has worked in the commercial sector for the majority of his career and has gained experience in a wide range of industry sectors including manufacturing, telecommunications, retail automotive operations and construction. He has worked for the Garenne Group for the past 11 years which has equipped him with the skills and experience to enable him to develop his new role and the Rabeys business.
Mr Waterman said he was delighted with his appointment.

Mr Waterman is married to Paula and has three children. In his spare time, he is a keen sports administrator and is well regarded within the local sports community for his efforts in developing local football. Most recently, Mr Waterman has been involved in the formation of leagues to play on the new 3G pitch at the KGV Sports Facility. He also plays guitar and enjoys music and art.
