RBC Wealth Management employees have raised a fantastic £44,206.40 for their nominated 2018 Charity of the Year, the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.
The money raised by RBC employees from internal events such as the Christmas Ball raffle, 100 Club and bake sales, have contributed to the charity’s aim of helping patients, their families and friends cope physically and emotionally with the changes that inevitably follow a brain tumour diagnosis.
More specifically, the money raised will be used to pay for the charity’s three monthly support groups for the next 18 months, which give people the opportunity to meet others who have been on the same journey and share their experiences and knowledge. The funding will also be used to create an improved website which will hold resources and guides for brain tumour patients and their families, friends and colleagues. The remaining money will be spread out between the use of a counselling room and other supporting services.
Chairman of The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity, Warren Simmons, who replaced Sue May in February 2018, commented: “We were delighted to have been chosen as RBC’s Charity of the Year for 2018 and have very much enjoyed working with the firm. The bank’s exceptional fundraising efforts have greatly helped brain tumour patients, their families and friends to cope with the diagnosis. We appreciate all their hard work and are delighted to be able to put the funds to such good use.”
Tracey Emmerson, Charity of the Year Committee Lead at RBC Wealth Management, added: “We’re delighted to have worked with such a fantastic organisation like the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity as our 2018 Charity of the Year. To have raised such a significant amount further reinforces our commitment to supporting important causes on our island and we look forward to continuing our charitable efforts in Jersey.”
RBC Wealth Management employees have nominated Mind Jersey’s Youthful Minds as their chosen Charity of the Year for 2019.
