Annie, who took part on Sunday, said: “I just wanted to say WOW! What an incredible event today was, absolutely seamless from start to end (literally). The organisation was exceptional, and absolutely every runner enjoyed it.”
Marie, added: “Everyone was so friendly and the goodies at the finish, delicious. Our team ‘Rum Runners’ enjoyed ourselves. Talking about next year’s event already!”
Loraine Fulton, Volunteer Manager at Hospice and organiser of the half marathon, said: “The atmosphere from start to finish was amazing and I am so grateful to everyone who was part of creating such a great morning: the runners, their friends and family, all the wonderful volunteers who helped make it happen and many of my colleagues at Hospice who came up to support. I don’t think there was one person who crossed the finish line without a smile on their face and together we have raised vital funds to help care for our patients at Hospice.
I’d also like to thank our sponsors, The Tamariki Club, particularly Will and Clare Power who cycled behind to ensure all runners were safe; the honorary police of St Ouen and St John; all the amazing road marshals and volunteers; Liberty Bus for providing two free buses to ferry runners to the start line; Rock n Road Run Co for their support and our fantastic cake bakers for the treats at the end that went down very well. We couldn’t have done it without all your support, thank you.”
The Hospice 2 Hospice half marathon started at the charity’s fundraising shop in St Ouen and looped around the stunning country lanes nearby before heading through St John to the finish at Hospice, Mont Cochon. Save the date for the next Hospice 2 Hospice Half Marathon, Sunday 2 April 2023
