For those islanders who will struggle to heat their homes this winter, Rubis is giving £20,000 worth of heating oil vouchers in both Jersey and Guernsey as those islanders may have tough choices to make as the cost of living rises.
Rubis has a long history of supporting the local community and are really pleased to be involved with thisvoucher scheme again, in partnership with The Salvation Army Jersey and the Guernsey Welfare Service.
Nick Crolla, Head of Sales & Marketing, Rubis Channel Islands commented: ‘It’s been another tough year for many people. So, for the second winter in a row, we are donating vouchers to help support our local community during the months ahead.’
Each winter fuel voucher is worth £100. The vouchers will be distributed by the Salvation Army in Jersey and the Guernsey Welfare Service from28 October.
Those who need support this winter are invited to get in touch with The Salvation Army in Jersey and the Guernsey Welfare Service. Individuals can collect a voucher, before contacting Rubis to redeem it and arrange their order of heating oil.
Richard Nunn from the Salvation Army in Jersey said, ‘We know that the vouchers Rubis donated last winter took the pressure off for those struggling to cope with managing the cost of fuel in the colder months. To have this practical support again is a sign of how the community is continuing to pull together to make a real difference.’
Sue Le Friec from the Guernsey Welfare Service added, ‘It’s fantastic that Rubis are willing to help those struggling with heating costs again this year – the vouchers were a life saver for many last winter and we are delighted to partner with Rubis in distributing them again.’
