Seymour Hotels of Jersey is delighted to announce that Sam Armes has recently joined the Pomme d’Or Hotel, as Personnel & Training Manager. Sam is the 5th generation of the Seymour family to join the Group, which was started in 1920 by his great grandfather, George Frederick Seymour and his great, great grandfather, George Andrew Seymour.

Sam graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA Honours Degree in Hospitality Management in July 2010, having spent a year on industrial placement with one of London’s largest hotels, the Guoman Tower Hotel. Here he experienced all aspects of working in a high volume, luxury four star hotel. After University, Sam enjoyed a spell at the Atlantic Hotel in St Brelade, before his travels took him to Australia where he worked as a Surf Instructor, honing his people skills. Having returned to Jersey, Sam has been working for the past year and a half in a Human Resources role at a local fiduciary services group, following a period with a recruitment company.

Luis de Oliveira, the Pomme d’Or Hotel’s General Manager said “As the grandson of the Group’s current Chairman, Robin Seymour, and the son of its recently retired Human Resources Director, Sue Armes, Sam obviously has the hospitality industry in his blood. I have known Sam for a long time and I am delighted to finally be able to bring him onto my team. I am confident that he will bring loads of enthusiasm, combined with new ideas and fresh thinking to the business in these challenging times. I am also delighted to see the faith that even the newest generation of the Seymour family has in the future of the tourism industry in Jersey”.
