The Health, Social Security and Housing Panel has agreed to undertake a review into the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

The Health, Social Security and Housing Panel has agreed to undertake a review into the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

The review will look at the existing services available to children, adolescents and their families and will also look at other jurisdictions to see how the services in Jersey compare. The Panel is currently in the process of developing its terms of reference for this review and will soon be making a public call for evidence.

Deputy J. A. Hilton, Vice Chairman, stated:

“Children and adolescents with mental health issues has featured heavily in the media recently and it has become apparent to the Panel that this is an area that needs to be explored by Scrutiny to ensure the services provided are fit for purpose and the Island is meeting the needs of this vulnerable group ”

You can find updates on the progress of the review which will be posted on the Scrutiny website at www.scrutiny.gov.je.
