This year’s event will be the 11th annual Tinathon. It will be held as usual in Wests Centre and will seek donations of tins of food in aid of the Shelter Trust for the homeless in Jersey. All tins donated will be sorted ready for use either to supplement food supplies in the four Shelter residences or for distribution in food parcels for the needy in Jersey.
Businesses, schools and members of the public are asked to bring tins of meat, fish, vegetables, soup or fruit to Wests Centre on 17thMay. If collection of tins is required, the e-mail contact is “tinathonjersey@hotmail.co.uk”.
Tin donation points are also very kindly being provided by Sandpiper CI at all their Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Iceland and Checkers stores from 29th April to 17th May, Waitrose in their stores at Red Houses, Longueville and Grands Vaux from 10thto 16thMay and by Co-op Grand Marche in their St Helier store from 6thto 17thMay.
